About Me
About Me
'I'm a textile & surface pattern designer with 10 years of experience creating artworks for print, jacquard knit & woven fabrics. I've worked for several brands across fashion, sportswear & homeware - both in-house and freelance. I have a BDes(Hons) degree from Glasgow School of Art where I specialised in printed textiles.'

My Process
I often start creating a design in my sketchbook: illustrating, mark-making or exploring composition. I find this the most intuitive way to create and value the qualities that hand-crafting artwork adds to a print or textile design.
Using digital tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are important parts of my process. I use these to edit and craft initial drawings and components into full artwork repeats or engineered placements. Artworks are edited according to the production technique; digital, screenprint or jacquard.
Concept & Brand Strategy
I am experienced working to briefs and building print and graphic collections that align with the wider brand strategy. Using moodboards I can create a concept print strategy and develop a print collection that aligns to the brands direction and commercial needs, taking consideration of the products and exploring techniques to achieve the best result.
Colour development is used to explore different variations and colourways. This can transform the feel of an artwork so colour is used in a thoughtful way that takes into consideration the final product and the brand visual identity.
